About Your Work

The Senior Security Engineer maintains and matures a security infrastructure, recognize threats and vulnerabilities to networks, data, apps and infrastructure, and mitigate security threats.

Monitoring incident response alerts, responding to those that impact the infrastructure and business operations. Provide regular "state of the security threat posture" reviews with respective business and technology leaders through dashboard level reporting.

Documenting and managing work through a ticketing system and a change control process. Performs vulnerability scans using vendor utility tools.

Monitors security audit and intrusion detection system logs for system and network anomalies. Investigates and / or escalates security violations, attempts to gain unauthorized access, malware or other’ that may affect the organization.

You will work remotely and must be willing to work on California hours from approximately 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm Pacific Time.

You Will Focus On :

• Recommend and deploy configuration changes to improve Altais’ security posture and mitigate security risks.
• Monitor and response to various security alerts and events as required.
• Evaluate the security of cloud infrastructure and establish requirements and guardrails to ensure that they are configured, deployed and operated in a secure manner.
• Remaining current with emerging threats, assessing, and configuring systems as needed to mitigate risks.
• IT Policy creation and maintenance.
• Detailing and communicating recommended security controls and deficiencies.
• Participate as the Information Security subject matter expert in project teams in relation to network security, cloud security posture and data security and governance.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the IT, Application Development and Infrastructure operations.

The Skills, Experience & Education You Bring

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience with information technology at scale.
• 3-5 years of information security engineering, vulnerability management, incident response or related network security experience.
• Experience working in a 24x7 distributed operational environment.
• Experience driving measurable improvement in monitoring and response capabilities at scale.
• Experience operating and defining controls for security frameworks such as HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO 27K, COBIT, COSO, NIST 800-53 / 171, NIST CSF, CIS, OWASP, HITRUST, FISMA, NERC CIP.
• Experience with EDR technologies such as Crowdstrike or Defender.
• Experience with eDiscovery processes and requirements.
• Experience managing and writing IT and Information Security policies.
• Process mapping and data flow modeling experience.
• Active Directory administration.
• Experience with identity and access management (SAML, OIDC, ADFS, SCIM, LDAP).
• Windows / xNix Server administration.
• Knowledge of OWASP, CIS and MITRE frameworks, IaaS (Azure).
• Industry recognized certifications (CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CRISC...etc.).
• Track record of acting with integrity, taking pride in work, seeking to excel, being curious and adaptable, and communicating effectively.

Altais values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description.

Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements. We provide a competitive compensation package that recognizes your experience, credentials, and education alongside a robust benefits program to meet your needs.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed in our salary posting for transparency but may vary based on factors including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and geographic location.

This base pay range is specific to California and can vary based on Bay Area, Metro LA, and Greater California regions which may not be applicable to other locations.

Physical Requirements : Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office / deskwork Activity level : Sedentary, frequency most of workday.
