POSITION SUMMARY The incumbent must be a seasoned manager who is well organized, self-directed and capable of a broad range of managerial tasks.
Daily activities will include planning, organizing and implementing strategies, as well as effective delegation and mentoring in a participative environment.
The incumbent must be approachable and give useful feedback to staff regarding their job performance. As the organization continues to change, difficult decisions will need to be made, requiring a high degree of judgment, tact, and the ability to lead by example.
Upholds the responsibility and authority for directing the management operations and clinical practice for the Medical Floor and Surgical Floors.
The incumbent will establish formal collaborative relationships with Physicians and ancillary groups in order to achieve the highest level of clinical care provision.
Attendance at medical service line meetings is expected. Responsibilities Executes strategic planning, leads mentoring / coaching and identifying department succession strategy.
Oversight of physician relationships and engagement. Collaborates with marketing and nursing leadership in marketing, community outreach, and visibility.
Development and oversight of quality initiatives, staffing and productivity guidelines, and customer service goals. Analyzes and monitors compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency standards.
Plans and organizes orientation and in-service training for staff members, and participates in guidance and educational programs.
Develops, implements and evaluates policies, standards and programs that supports unit / departments. Develops and submits budget strategies and capital budgets for the unit / departments.
Uses forecasted budget to guide expenditure decisions. Initiates activities to enhance revenues and support cost reduction and containment activities.
Demonstrates empathy, intentionally works to put others at ease. Qualifications Education & Experience Current licensure as an RN in the State of Idaho.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required. Master’s degree is preferred. Current BLS certification required. ACLS certification recommended.
Three years of nursing experience preferably in a medical / surgical, oncology, and / or house supervisor setting. Two years of management experience is required.
