PT or PTA Physical Therapist W / Benefits School Based Role (K-12) FT or PT - Waukegan, IL Area
Key Responsibilities :
For PT :
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' physical needs and challenges
- Develop customized therapy plans aimed at improving mobility, strength, and coordination
- Provide direct physical therapy to students, focusing on functional skills for daily activities
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a holistic support system
- Participate in IEP meetings, offering expert guidance and recommendations for student progress
For PTA :
- Assist the PT in implementing therapy sessions according to the treatment plans
- Work with students individually or in small groups to help them achieve their physical therapy goals
- Monitor and document student progress, providing regular updates to the PT
- Prepare and adapt materials for therapy sessions to meet the unique needs of each student
- Collaborate closely with the PT, educators, and families to ensure comprehensive support for students
Qualifications :
- For PT : Must hold a valid Physical Therapist license
- For PTA : Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required
- Experience in a school setting is preferred for both positions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential
- A commitment to helping students reach their full physical potential is vital
