Accountant - Commercial Construction industry

Our client is seeking an Accountant to join their successful and highly respected commercial construction firm with a high standard of excellence dedicated to serving its clients with on-time results and an impeccable safety record.

Responsibilities of the Accountant :
- Accountant is responsible for managing the daily operations of the accounting department
- Manage AP / AR, cash receipts, billing, invoices, general ledger, and daily accounting transactions.
- Process accurate client and consultant invoices per contract terms
- Responsible for producing WIP reports for project managers
- Be familiar with accounting for contracts / projects, forecasts, and percentage of completion method of accounting.
- Review and approve sub-contractor certified payroll and submit for processing utilizing ADP.
- Manage revenue and expenditure variance analysis
- Responsible for cash management; bank account statement reconciliations; deposits and check runs
- Monthly close process, prepare financial statements and management reports
- Year-end tax planning and tax return coordination with 3rd party CPA firm; manage tax payments
- Coordinate and complete any annual audits
Requirements of the Accountant :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or experience in lieu
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
- Experience in commercial construction industry or related field preferred
- Salary $75k - $85k depending upon experience. Provides benefits (including robust employee health insurance, and paid time off).
