Schedule : full time position, Monday-Friday, traditional business hours (e.g., 8am-4 : 30pm)
Location : onsite at our private primary care practice in San Francisco (Laurel Heights area)

Right now we're looking for an experienced pharmacy tech to join our team at our San Francisco team! In this role you will provide prescriptions to members through our Physician Dispensing Program.
Pharmacy technicians provide assistance and organization to physicians and nurses at each office; therefore must be detail-oriented, flexible and reliable.
The ability to work in a strong team based environment is essential and this individual must possess excellent communication skills.
About you :
- Education : Minimum High School Diploma / GED - Bachelor's degree preferred
- License / cert : Certified pharmacy technician
- Experience : Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience as a pharmacy technician
Skills we're looking for :
- Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and comfortable working with all team members
- Must be able to lift 15-20 lbs and sit for extended periods of time
- Must be organized, able to multitask, and follows directions set by the manager
- Reliable with a keen eye for detail
What will you be doing in this role?
- Assist with prescription preparation and labeling under the direction of the member’s physician
- Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory
- Receive pharmaceutical inventory shipments and ensure accuracy prior to logging in inventory system
- Properly dispose of expired medications
- Communicate and manage recalled medications for safety and compliance
- Provide excellent customer service to vendors and members
- Detailed management of data in a variety of systems : Physician Dispensing Software, Inventory System, EHR, Google Sheets and other spreadsheets.
- Assist clinical team in processing prior authorizations for members
- Undertake administrative tasks (e.g. record-keeping, rejected insurance claims, etc.)
- Comply with all security measures and quality standards
- Participate in a variety of committees and projects throughout the organization related to pharmacy needs, physician dispensing, medication management, branding and other projects.
- Work closely with patient care coordinators, nurses and clinical staff
- Occasional travel to other office locations and / or training venues
