SUMMARY :

Merit Services is actively searching for an exceptional and driven System Administrator to join the vibrant team of our esteemed client located in the thriving city of Toronto.

As a dedicated System Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functionality and reliability of our client’s cutting-edge systems and networks..

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the optimal performance and stability of our client’s systems and networks.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and network devices to guarantee uninterrupted operations.
• Conduct regular system monitoring, analysis, and performance tuning to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
• Implement robust security measures to safeguard data, systems, and network infrastructure against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
• Perform routine backup and disaster recovery procedures to minimize the risk of data loss and ensure business continuity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems related to hardware, software, and network components with efficiency and accuracy.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in system administration to contribute to the continuous improvement of our client’s IT infrastructure.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure necessary hardware, software, and infrastructure components, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to quality standards.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, to facilitate knowledge sharing and enhance team productivity.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, promptly addressing their queries and issues to ensure a smooth and productive user experience.
• Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects, contributing expertise and insights to ensure seamless transitions and minimal disruption.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of system administration tasks, including server deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting operating systems (such as Windows, Linux, or Unix) and network devices.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proactive attitude, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
