Job Title : Senior Specialist, Software Systems Engineer (Active TS / SCI Poly Clearance Required)Job Code : 16357Job Location : Colorado Springs, COJob Description : As a Senior Specialist, Software Systems Engineer, you will contribute to a Systems Engineering team in design, development, implementation, testing and training of / for battle management systems for our warfighters.

This position supports the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) division, a great team of talented professionals with world class technical expertise who take a collaborative approach to engineering and enjoy working together.

In this position, you will bring your systems engineering background to a system engineering role where you can make a broad impact to programs and projects that are critical to our customers!Essential Functions : Manage technical solutions thru engagement across multiple teams, partners, vendors, and customers at the mission level.

Support programs by implementing SAFe.Lead the design and development of system / subsystem products with the guidance of senior technical personnel.

Interact with customers and provide input to project managers on the programmatic and technical deliverables.Recognized as an expert and thought leader with broad experience across multiple job areas.

Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts.

Develops or champions new systems, concepts, or technologies. Recommends tactics and strategies that directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional resultsProvides guidance, coaching and training to other employees across the company within area of expertise.

Responsible for managing large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams.

Communicates within and outside of the organization which includes larger customers or vendors. Works to influence others to accept team's view / practices and agree / accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.

Communicates and influences leadership regarding matters of substantial importance to the function or business area. Frequently conducts briefings to senior leaders and customers.

Recognized as an internal expert and thought leader in area of expertise with broad experience across multiple job areas.

Responsible for improving upon existing processes or establishing new systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation.

Develops or champions new concepts or technologies. Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are often complex, requiring broad-based consideration of variables that impact multiple functions and / or businesses.

Extensively analyzes problems to seek understanding of the root cause of the problem.Recommends tactics and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results.

Establishes tactics for group with short- to mid-term impact on results (e.g., 1-2 years). Recommends new products, processes, policies, standards, or operating plans in support of job function strategy.

Able to lead design and execution of Acceptance, System Level, Integration, and Unit test phases, with heavy emphasis on test automation to support Behavior Driven DevelopmentManagement of geographically dispersed teams.

Other duties as assignedQualifications : Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.Active TS / SCI security clearance with Polygraph.Preferred Additional Skills : 6 years of related experience with a BS in SW Aerospace, Space Systems or a related discipline.

Alternatively, 4 years of prior related experience with a Graduate DegreeExperience with SAFe or other large scale Agile implementationsExperience with working with software development teams and associated Agile development processesExperience in supporting modeling, simulation, and analysis of software systemsExperience with national security space related problemsExperience with Agile approaches to software developmentFamiliar with Java or similar object-oriented languages enabling one to read and follow the logic of the code written.

Experience working with JSON and XML files often used for data exchange and API definitions.Experience with STK / Astrogator / ODTK, Astrodynamics Standards, SOAPExperience in Python, Java, MATLAB, RHEL / LinuxExcellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractorsAbility to negotiate solutions among functional groups (Systems Engineering, Mission Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.

Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills demonstrated by related work experienceStrong coordination and organization skills with a focus on detailsOrganized and detail-orientedDigital engineering experienceDemonstrated success in leading technical exchanges and interactions with customersIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $89,000- $165,000 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
