Position Overview : The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department's daily operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting, and leading a team of accountants.
This role is crucial in providing financial insights that support the company's strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Reporting : Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Team Leadership : Manage and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring professional development and performance management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting : Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Internal Controls : Design, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.
- Financial Systems : Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of accounting systems to ensure accurate and efficient financial reporting.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Experience : Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Leadership : Proven experience in managing and developing a team of accounting professionals.
- Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Integrity : High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
