POSITION SUMMARY
To provide daily hygiene, assist with ADL’s, and data collection in a timely and accurate manner. To communicate appropriately with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
To transcribe medical plan of care, maintain work environment and communicate nursing care needs in a timely and accurate manner.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education / Training :
- Certified or at least one year of nursing assistant experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- BLS within 90 days of hire.

Pocket Masks; Bed Scales; Sphygmomanometer; Dinamap; Electronic Thermometers; Plexipulse; K-Thermia; Pneumatic Tube System;

Physical Environment :
Medical-Surgical Unit with patient population ranging from less than one year of age>
99 years of age.
Physical Effort :
Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
Able to stand / work for up to twelve hours a day.
Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Assists with data collection
- Organizes assigned task and responsibilities.
- Assists with the patient’s care identifying and reporting problems / needs, and performs interventions consistent with identified problems as directed by the nurse.
- Collaborates with appropriate health care team members to help coordinate the delivery of patient care in a timely manner.
- Assists with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to areas evidenced by adherence to policy, procedure and competency based assessment and no pattern or trend of problem.
- Transcribes medical plan of care.
- Provides clerical support.
- Documents accurately and timely.
- Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications in a professional courteous manner.
- Maintain healing and therapeutic environment for the patient and family.
- Maintains position specific qualifications / attends mandatory in-services.
- Facilitates staff development and assists in orientation of new employees.
