Job Summary The irrigation technician will be responsible for overseeing irrigation repair operations at residential, commercial and institutional sites including start-up, maintenance checks, maintenance repairs, winterizations and system modifications.
Responsibilities and Duties Ensure irrigation systems at maintenance sites are started, tested and adjusted for spring. Complete repairs and troubleshoot systems throughout the year.
Manage small system installation and modifications when needed. Monitor irrigation systems and watering times, working with account managers to meet client water budget and maintain the health of the landscape.
Ensures appropriate tools and equipment for irrigation projects are in inventory and prepares purchase orders for non-stocked items.
Coordinate repairs with service manager based on needs of customer and contracts. Performs additional duties as assigned by the branch manager.
Qualifications 2-3 Years of related work experience is required (or ability to undergo training). Knowledge of irrigation and irrigation systems (required).
Backflow tester certification is desired. Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and customers and present information, respond to questions both verbally and in writing.
Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision. Ability to work independently when needed.
Ability to exercise good judgement with strong attention to detail. Ability to help with production, scheduling, and routing.
