About the job Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities :
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Collaborate with production staff to minimize downtime and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment logs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment and machinery.
- Order and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts.
- Provide emergency / unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
- This role is 2nd shift.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, particularly in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for handling heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Associate degree in industrial maintenance, engineering technology, or a related field.
- Certification in relevant areas such as HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise junior maintenance staff.
- Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
