Job purpose
A Controls Engineer performs a vital role in designing and developing systems for manufacturing operations. They may design layout, materials and information flow, or machine placement.
Additionally, a Control Engineer can be responsible for increasing production efficiency by evaluating performance and proposing and implementing improvements.
The Control Engineer works within the Battery Systems Engineering matrixed organization in collaboration with the Engineering Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Design electrical and control systems for industrial automation systems
- Program and configure plant floor data interfaces (traceability)
- Support qualifications of production equipment
- Support troubleshooting production equipment for electrical / pneumatic issues
- Lead support for vision inspection systems
- Write work instructions
- Support developing robust Process Control Plan for production
- Support robot issue (points, electrical issues, programming)
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer or Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics preferred
- Extensive experience in Siemens PLC & HMI programming / troubleshooting
- Kuka Robot experience
- Torque screw drivers
- Experience in Keyence Vision systems
- Experience with AutoCAD (electrical design)
- Familiarity with safety standards for industrial equipment (OSHA, NFPA, etc)
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical manufacturing processes
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
