Job Summary
- Work with independent wholesale distributors and retailers to grow sales in the district
- Build strong business relationships with independent wholesale distributors and retailers
- Identify and pursue sales opportunities
- Present sales opportunities and results to wholesale distributors and retailer management
- Act as liaison on behalf of McKee Foods to both the wholesalers and retailers
- Encourage existing wholesalers to grow sales through the addition of sales vehicles and employees
- Recruit and appoint quality candidates to distributorships
- Offer and provide orientation to new independent wholesale distributors
- Deliver timely and accurate business information to independent distributors, and retailers
- Communicate and demonstrate best business practices to independent distributors
- Operate and develop a company sales territory, when needed
- Operate and properly maintain a company vehicle on a daily basis
- Comply with established practices and procedures for conducting business
- Regularly maintain effective communication with supervision
- Complete reports and assignments on time
- Appropriately represent McKee Foods within the marketplace
- Start the day early, most days prior to sunrise
Required Qualifications
- One to two years of post-high school education, or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years retail management or sales experience
- Demonstrated excellence at achieving goals and executing company and / or sales strategy
- Demonstrated leadership and motivation skills
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands
- Experience building strong business relationships
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and self motivation and a high level of independence required
- Goal oriented with experience setting and achieving challenging goals
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with others including one-on-one discussions and speaking before groups of customers or coworkers
- Experience providing customer service in a variety of situations
- Experience analyzing business information, drawing conclusions from data, and preparing and making sales presentations
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, make decisions and seek out appropriate assistance
- Demonstrated ability to plan each day to maximize time accomplishing measurable results
- Experience working as part of a team and assisting others
- Solid MS Office skills using Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint; proficient with mobile technology applications
- Able and willing to travel extensively within assigned district
- Able and willing to travel and work outside of assigned district for multiple days at a time when needed
- Able and willing to operate a vehicle weighing more than 10,000 pounds when needed
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Able to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Able to maintain a home office

Preferred Qualifications
- Business-related college degree
- At least 3 years sales experience in consumer packaged goods and / or DSD
- Experience making sales calls with retailers, both at store level and headquarters
- Currently reside in the advertised geographical sales location
- Able to complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
