- Knowledge of radiographic examinations and positioning techniques including those procedures that require the use of contrast agents
- Basic computer skills, ability to navigate through Windows (Outlook, a plus)
- Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization
- Ability to handle multiple tasks / projects and meet schedules
- Demonstration of ethical and professional conduct Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares room, equipment, contrast and materials as needed for patients
- Cleans and disinfects radiographic room and equipment
- Prepares patient for radiographic procedure : explains procedure, assists patient throughout the exam including exiting the room
- Follows prescribed techniques in administering specific x-rays in order to obtain diagnostic images
- Able to competently utilize HIS / PACs / RIS software programs.
- Prints exams on film PRN; participates in department QA program
- Observes patient and equipment during procedure-reports unusual occurrences and records patient condition as needed
- Maintains stock supplies and performs general office duties.
- Active movement through the work day. Standing, sitting, pivoting and walking. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program
- Licensed by the New York State Department of Health
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Flexibility to work overtime including off-shift duty as needed (evenings and weekends) Preferred :
- C-Arm procedure experience preferred
