Position description
Undergraduate and Interdisciplinary Studies (UGIS) in the Undergraduate Division of the College of Letters and Science serves as a center for innovations in undergraduate education that extend beyond traditional departmental boundaries.
Our major and minor programs attract undergraduates who wish to explore intellectually engaging and promising interdisciplinary fields under the direction of scholars who are pioneers in charting these new areas and methods of inquiry.
General Duties : In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.
g., syllabus), and using Cal's electronic resources for course management.
UGIS invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors with experience teaching interdisciplinary studies and global internships.

Additional qualifications (by start date) : Completion of advanced degree or an equivalent international degree. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred qualifications
Preferred Qualifications : A Ph.D. or equivalent international degree, and experience working with a diverse student population is preferred.
College-level teaching experience in interdisciplinary studies and global internships is preferred. Knowledge of accessible technologies and universal design in instruction and online teaching is preferred.
