Dwyer College of Health Sciences is a robust and growing IU South Bend College that prepares graduates to become health and human services professionals in the ever-changing and diverse landscape of healthcare.

The College includes undergraduate health profession programs in nursing, dental hygiene education, radiological sciences, medical laboratory science, and applied health sciences.

Graduate programs include Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology and a Post-professional Master of Science Nursing- Family Nurse Practitioner, Education and Administration.

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to teach core courses in the graduate Master of Science Occupational Therapy curriculum.

Other position responsibilities include, administration and management of the clinical fieldwork component of the curriculum in the role of the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) as well as service to the program, college, campus, or community, such as regularly attending and participating in faculty meetings and serving on relevant committees.

Faculty may also be required to teach evening, weekend, off-site, and / or online courses.

Basic Qualifications Required Qualifications

  • An earned master’s or entry-level graduate degree in occupational therapy (MOT, MSOT, OTD) awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency.
  • Two years of Occupational Therapy practice experience.
  • Hold or be eligible for Occupational Therapy licensure in the State of Indiana.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an OT and / or OTA Academic Fieldwork Coordinator.
  • Experience as faculty in an occupational therapy education program.
  • Experience in the role of coordinating fieldwork at their placement of employment or who has hosted OT fieldwork students routinely.
  • Experience working in a diverse workplace or diverse populations.
  • Experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives.
  • Content expertise in neuroscience, rehabilitation, pediatrics, evidence- based practice and service methods.
  • Completed OTD
