Given Blackstone's continued growth of their private equity business, Portfolio Operations Group, and deep commitment to ESG, the firm is seeking to recruit a VP of ESG to work across Blackstone's Private Equity strategies.

SUMMARY

Blackstone partners with targeted portfolio companies on ESG programs that drive value and is seeking to recruit a Vice President in its Portfolio Operations group in New York.

In this newly created role as part of the Portfolio Operations team, this professional will lead ESG diligence, partner with portfolio companies to develop ESG strategies and programs, and support ESG performance monitoring and reporting.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, who has experience advising on and implementing ESG strategies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Leading ESG diligences for new acquisitions
  • Conducting analysis to inform portfolio company ESG strategy and working closely with Asset Managers and external consultants to drive implementation of key priorities
  • Guiding Portfolio Company ESG reporting and communication strategy to align with regulatory requirements, customer priorities, and public-market investor expectations
  • Coordinating a community of practice across portfolio company ESG leaders and champions
  • Developing metrics, analyzing, and tracking progress on ESG performance across the portfolio

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • 4+ years experience setting up value-linked ESG strategies
  • Program management experience implementing ESG or other transformation initiatives
  • Deep understanding of ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., ISSB / SASB, TCFD) required; familiarity with ESG scoring and ratings frameworks (e.

g., MSCI, Sustainalytics) preferred

  • At least one project involving ESG projects with the supply chain
  • Prior experience publishing ESG reports and / or customer communications highly desired
  • Experience managing and analyzing large data sets to produce actionable insights
  • Outstanding interpersonal & communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely and communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Creative thinker with strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Detail-oriented, quality and time conscious, and able to multi-task in a dynamic and highly responsive environment
  • The inclination to seek and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decisions and to align others with the overall strategy
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead and operate with humility
  • Possess a high level of intellectual curiosity and a desire to continuously add to their knowledge base
  • Encourages others to share the spotlight and visibly celebrates and supports the success of the broader team
  • Have the highest level of integrity and professionalism

Expected annual base salary range :

$185,000 - $200,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location.

For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation : Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
