Manage a unit with 30 postpartum beds and handle around 275-300 deliveries per month (>
3000 / year).- Maintain staff ratios of 1 : 4 for couplet care, and 1 : 5 if not involving babies.- Coordinate with a team that includes CNAs, unit secretaries, hearing screeners, BC clerks, and lactation consultants.
- Work collaboratively with in-house OB hospitalists available 24 / 7.- Utilize the Cerner charting system for documentation.
- Adhere to the unit's navy blue scrub color / dress code.- Participate in a department-specific orientation lasting 5 shifts.
- Take occasional calls from staff on weekends when needed.- No floating outside the postpartum unit.- Ensure compliance with the cancellation policy of three shifts per 13-week contract.
Please note this position requires a professional with both management skills and hands-on experience in mother-baby postpartum care.
