The Department of General and Specialized Surgery evaluates and treats common and complex conditions affecting the abdomen, gastrointestinal system, and breasts. Our experienced caregivers are skilled in minimally invasive methods, including robotic-assisted surgery and laparoscopic surgery. A caregiver in this position works 7 : 30AM 4 : 30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will :

• Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.
• Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
• Supervise caregivers and promote development.
• Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
• Coordinate unit operations with other units / departments.
• Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish / revise inventory quotes.
• Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.
• Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.
• Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.
