The Role
Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Region Sales Manager to grow and manage our grocery business channel and develop other strategic accounts.
The Region Sales Manager will be responsible for nurturing existing relationships, driving sales growth, and identifying opportunities for expanding our presence in key markets.
Additionally, this role will involve actively pursuing new business opportunities to further strengthen our position in the industry.
- Identify, develop and execute key business building opportunities around distribution, availability, promotion, display, merchandising and pricing that will support volume and share growth for Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn, while balancing these elements in a manner that will ensure a sustainable, profitable business model is maintained for both Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn and our customers.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand our customer base and market reach.
- Develop business building presentations and timely reviews for retail customers, broker, and distributor partners through the effective use of syndicated data, customer channel data, trade information and brand facts.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and R&D teams, to ensure alignment of strategies and objectives.
- Manage an effective communication process with broker partners to facilitate the execution of volume-building initiatives.
- Conduct trade visits with brokers to inspect execution, competitive activity and to assess future opportunities for our customers.
- Build Annual Operating Plan to layout a roadmap for future growth opportunities.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and promotional agreements to maximize profitability and market share.
- Effectively utilize trade budget to fully leverage brand potential, maximizing retail execution.
- Ensure forecast accuracy to facilitate the efficient utilization of Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn assets in addition to ensuring our ability to better serve our customers by delivering a quality product, in the proper quantity at the agreed upon time and price.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to develop sales strategies and tactics.
- Represent Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote brand awareness and foster business relationships.
- Prepare and present sales reports to Sales Director
Requirements : Qualifications
Qualifications
- 5+ years proven track record of success in a sales role within the consumer-packaged goods industry. Preferred experience in snacking.
- Proven track record of success in managing key accounts, driving sales growth, and achieving revenue targets.
- 5+ years of experience in Broker, Distributor or Retail Account Management
- 5+ years of experience working with UNFI, KeHE, and other regional distributors.
- 5 +years of experience using MS Office to include PPT, Excel, Word
- Ability to use data & insights to build a story and fact-based sell.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute account plans that align with business objectives.
- Experience in identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve results.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Physical Demands
Extensive physical exertions which includes but are not limited to :
- Sitting / standing for extended periods
- Ability to lift 50 lbs as needed
Measured Metrics and Review Schedule
Your first review will be 90 days after your start date, then a six-month check-in and a development review annually in January for the duration of your employment.
If the results of a review are unsatisfactory, more frequent reviews may be scheduled to monitor improvements. If assigned improvement goals are not reached, a warning schedule may be implemented including the possibility of termination.
During each review, your performance and ability to achieve the following metrics will be evaluated.

Salary
$85,000 - $120,000 Annual Base
Annual Bonus Potential : 20% - Based on company & personal performance.
