The role
We are looking for a Sales & Marketing Operations Manager with a proven track record of helping revenue teams win more business more efficiently.
In this individual contributor role, you will act as a force multiplier, driving efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness through data analytics, process optimization, and streamlining operations.
As our ideal candidate, you are a strategic business analyst with significant experience working at a top-tier management consultancy, investment bank, or similar role and are comfortable interacting with senior management on a regular basis.
You have a robust skill set in data analysis, a relentless curiosity, and a passion for creating innovative analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, developing recommendations that transcend the numbers.
You have a deep understanding of Salesforce CRM and how to configure it to drive business value. You know how to connect with executives and different functional departments to ensure alignment and foster cross-functional collaboration.
You are someone who enjoys solving complex problems and building scalable processes. You back your recommendations with data, building complex models in Excel, dashboards, and data visualization tools.
You have exceptional communication skills, a relentless winning attitude, and thrive in a start-up’ rapidly changing environment.
Your primary responsibilities will range from the very strategic to the very operational : growth strategy, business planning, territory / target modelling, market segmentation, sales pipeline analysis, regular performance reviews and regular analysis of sales performance.
Deliverables range from robust analytic models, custom performance analysis, and scalable reporting infrastructure, to the packaging of findings into presentation-ready content for Sedex executives.
You will interact with various areas of the organization and get good exposure to senior executives. You will have a key role in quarterly business reviews and the annual GTM planning cycle.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Analysis :
- Liaise between global sales, marketing, customer success, and finance to provide insights into performance.
- Collect inputs and publish performance metrics reports.
- Distill analytical insights into concise, executive-ready presentations.
- Collaborate with product and engineering on revenue processes for new product launches.
- Work with business unit leaders to drive enablement, remove roadblocks, develop strategies, and execute them.
Operational Efficiency :
- Structure and build quantitative and qualitative analyses for Marketing and Sales transformation.
- Support sales operations with dashboards and tools to automate and clarify revenue team performance.
- Use data and insights to inform customer segments and sales coverage models.
- Influence sales process and CRM design to measure and improve sales productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, identify automation opportunities, and implement tools to enhance efficiency.
Metric Tracking :
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define measurable goals and objectives for business initiatives.
- Develop strategies and action plans to achieve set goals and drive accountability across the organization.
- Reconcile data between systems, identify discrepancies, and work with engineering and product teams to propose solutions.
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to management.
- Build quantitative and qualitative analyses and business frameworks linked to Sales Transformation initiatives.
- Ensure accuracy of all revenue data and recommend opportunities for improvement to business unit leaders and regional sales teams.
Operational Support :
- Support broader Strategy and Operations team with ad hoc strategic projects.
- Act as an internal resource for sales analytics and issues, ensuring timely research and responses.
- Define and execute solutions to bottlenecks and areas for improvement in existing processes.
- Investigate root cause revenue discrepancies, propose solutions, and collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions.
- Drive efficiency in processes, streamlining, automating, and simplifying to increase sales process efficiency and net revenue realization.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
5-7+ years of experience in sales operations, quantitative analysis, or consulting, with a focus on mathematical models and logical reasoning;
experience using Excel, databases, and building dashboards for analysis.
- Preferred experience in accounting, analytics, top-tier consulting, or finance.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to structure complex problems and develop solutions.
- Strong quantitative skills and a willingness to dig into data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present insights to stakeholders at various levels.
- Strong presentation skills, particularly in creating compelling PowerPoint presentations.
- Creativity in developing actionable recommendations for senior management.
- Self-starter with a high degree of motivation to go above and beyond.
- Comfort working in ambiguity in a fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of grit.
- Bachelor's Degree in an analytical discipline such as business administration, computer science, finance, information systems, economics, etc.
- Advanced skills in Salesforce CRM. Familiarity with 6Sense, LeanData, HubSpot, and BI tools is a plus.
