Overview :
Acts as an onsite clinic and financial problem solver for the Medical Director, Director of Operations, Practice Manager, patients, and staff.
Oversee practice functions that contribute to the capture, management, and collection of patient service revenue. Ensures financial reps and front-line staff (including after hours staff) execute daily business office functions accordingly.
Supervises the daily operation of the assigned staff, which include surgery schedulers and other front office staff members including after hours staff.
Ensures compliance with UFHP, SBO and practice directives. Responsible for resolving complaints, issues, and patient relations issues.
Communicates with and responds to physicians on a daily basis. Works with staff to review clinic financial and operational processes and initiates changes to optimize workflows utilizing lean management principles.
Ensures that key processes are patient centric. Provides other daily operational duties, to include but not limited to : opening / closing clinic, 7 days a week operations including after hours care, maintenance issues, security issues, accounts payable and receivables, vendor / contractor relationships, and building relationships with ancillary services within the practice.
Qualifications :
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :
Experience with staff recruitment and hiring, staff evaluations, and disciplinary action.
Excellent communication skills required, including patient relations, conflict resolution, dissemination of information, physician interaction, and management forums.
A demonstrated knowledge of medical reimbursement guidelines, continuous quality improvement guidelines, and quality customer service methodologies is required.
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills required.
Knowledge of managed care and payor reimbursement practices is required.
The ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, problem solve, and function in a team environment are necessary attributes of the successful incumbent.
Knowledge of EPIC EHR and of CPT and ICD-9 / 10 coding highly preferred.
Associate two-year degree and four years financial / medical practice experience required.
Four-year degree may substitute for two years financial / medical experience.
Two-year degree may substitute for one year financial / medical experience.
One year of supervisory experience required.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation :
Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
NOTE : A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his / her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his / her job.
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
National certification as a Procedural Coder preferred.
