TOWN OF NEW CANAAN, CONNECTICUT SEWER PLANT OPERATOR 2

In compliance with the Agreement with Local 1303-13 and the Town of New Canaan Article 17.0 and 17.1, the Town of New Canaan, Connecticut seeks qualified candidates for the position Sewer Plant Operator 2.

This position performs responsible duties in the mechanical and chemical functioning of the sewage treatment plant and assists the Plant Superintendent in the proper operation of the plant.

These duties include regulating the flow of sewage through the various treatment processes, supervising and / or performing maintenance of ground facilities, conducting inspections and performing all essential functions of the position.

Qualifications include completion of four-year high school degree and working knowledge of chemical testing procedures and equipment.

Practical experience and knowledge of sewage treatment system a plus. Must have a minimum of a Class II CT Sewage Treatment Plant Operator’s license
