Work Shift : Day
A dynamic opportunity to work in the Albany Medical Center Critical Care Float Pool, gaining and practicing critical care skills in areas such as Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and the MSICU.
The hourly range for this role is $34.65 - $35.69. In addition to critical care, RNs in the Critical Care Float pool have the opportunity to gain competencies in Emergency Department care and neuro-progressive care areas, working in all the Critical Care areas at the Region's only Level I trauma center.
Job Description :
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests
- Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing
Qualifications :
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license
- Obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
- Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills
- Possess knowledge of quality concepts and principles
