Summary :
A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for thedelivery of patient care through the process of assessment,diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
In addition,the Registered Professional Nurse prescribes, delegates,coordinates, supervises and evaluates patient teaching and theactivities of the ancillary nursing personnel while maintaining thestandards of professional nursing.
The Registered Nurse is able toprovide direct and indirect care to patients.
Requirements : Education / Skills
Education / Skills
Graduate of a State Board School of Nursing orequivalent.
Experience
Twelve (12) months experiencepreferred.
Licenses,Registrations, or Certifications
- Current license or permit to practiceprofessional nursing in the State ofTexas.
- AHA BLS within two (2) weeks ofemployment
- Medication Competence withintwo (2) weeks of employment
- ComputerCompetence- within four (4) weeks ofemployment
- A Medication Examination within twelve (12) weeks ofemployment
- Basic Dysrhythmia (ifapplicable) within twelve (12) weeks ofemployment
- TNCC- within six (6) months ofemployment if hired in MICU or NeuroICU
- Critical Care Classes andExaminations within in sixteen (16) weeks ofemployment
- ACLs-within sixteen (16) weeksof employment
- Phlebotomy / Point of CareCompetency-within four (4) weeks ofemployment
