The Department of Epidemiology, Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, seeks scholars for faculty appointments at all academic ranks, in tenure-track and research-track positions.

We are seeking candidates that will contribute to well-established areas within the Department (infectious diseases, epidemiologic methods, social epidemiology, perinatal, pediatric and reproductive epidemiology, cardiometabolic disease, genetic / molecular epidemiology, cancer), and to expanding areas of research (mental health, injury epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology).

Individuals with strong methodological backgrounds will be preferred. Candidates for senior positions should have an established record of scholarship, extramural funding as a principal investigator, and evidence of excellence in teaching.

Candidates for tenure-track positions must demonstrate the potential to become independent investigators and graduate-level teachers.

The Department of Epidemiology consists of 44 primary faculty with a wide range of research interests; an additional 67 joint faculty members hold primary appointments in other departments (e.

g., Environmental and Occupational Health, Global Health, Behavioral Sciences and Health Education, Medicine) and 34 adjunct faculty, many affiliated with the neighboring Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Cancer Society.

$43 million in yearly extramural research funding. The Department houses several research centers including the state Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) Program, the Center for Public Health Preparedness and Research, the Center for Spina Bifida Research, Prevention, and Policy, the Emory Program in Cardiovascular Outcomes Research and Epidemiology (EPICORE), and the PRISM Health (Programs, Research and Innovation for Sexual and Minority Health) Research Group.

The Department offers the MPH, MSPH and PhD degrees and collaborates in offering a Masters of Science in Clinical Research degree for biomedical investigators.

The Rollins School of Public Health (RSPH) is currently ranked 4

nationally among schools of public health by the US News and World Report. The campus is adjacent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The School is part of the Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center, which also includes the Emory Schools of Medicine and Nursing, the Emory Global Health Institute, the Winship Cancer Institute, and Emory Healthcare.
