While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to perform mechanical maintenance tasks, handle or feel objects, tools, and controls; talk and hear
Employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms and to climb on scaffolds and ladders
Employee is frequently required to lift and / or move up to 50 lbs., and to move objects up to 100 lbs.
Plumbing repairs or maintenance on faucets, lavatories, water closets, and valves
Replace flush valves and faucet seats or washers and shower valves or heads as required
Pull toilets and replace wax rings and grouting as required
Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks
Repair and maintain plumbing, replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, and opening clogged drains
Makes periodic rounds to all area to support equipment and maintains operating log of conditions observed
Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
When required perform basic repairs and troubleshooting like plumbing, electrical components, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and bulbs, and other guest room items
Perform any other general building maintenance tasks as assigned
Attend department meetings
May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays
Works independently on special projects
Plans projects or entire projects of moderate complexity
Display the ability to train and mentor other Plumbers (e.g., Plumber I)
Measure, cut thread, and bend pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe threading machines, and pipe bending machines
Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations, and to plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring
Work Experience & Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent;
And / or at least three (3) years of previous experience
Minimum two (2) years as an apprentice with a plumbing company and assisting technical school
Licensed Master
Be able to read blueprints
Communication : Good verbal skills, some computer knowledge
