Apply today!Job Description The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Health Technician to join our team! This position is available within our Radiological Infrastructure Operations (RIO) subdivision and will support the Service Life Extension Operations (SLEO) unit at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, NY.

SLEO is responsible for performing radiological liability reduction to increase the life of the testing programs within the Radioactive Materials Laboratory.

Opportunities for this position include, but are not limited to, performing complex radiological work to support radiological facility upgrades, waste removal activities, and legacy testing equipment removal.

SLEO also maintains intrinsic radiological capabilities to support sitewide NNL radiological casualties. At NNL, you'll be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in the field of nuclear science and technology.

  • or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;

or Journeyman's papers in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

Preferred Skills Current or previous advanced radiological skills / qualifications. Demonstrated formality with following procedures and processes.

S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities : Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A.

Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.

FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations.
