Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Lead Sonographer Specialty Tech to join the team. This roll will be a Full-Time Day Shift : 4 - 10-hour shifts 7am - 5 : 30pm.

Lead Sonographer Specialty Tech Job Responsibilities

• A physicians in performing TEE, Fetal Echoes, venous Insufficiency, road mapping, and or AV optimization studies by using departmental protocols to provide optimum results.
• Recognizes clinical and / or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcomes.
• Explains procedures to patients / families and answers questions to ease anxiety and ensure patient cooperation. Demonstrates patient safety in the department through the use of side rails, braking mechanisms, and patient monitoring.

Utilizes electronic medical records (EMR) to track patients according to department procedures.

• Maintains the Glutaraldehyde solution and / or Hydrogen Peroxide solution to include daily solution and test strip testing maintains all logs associated with this technique.
• Demonstrates proper care and aseptic cleaning of all patient-related equipment by following established department policies.

Demonstrates the ability to use proper cleaning techniques for high-level disinfection processes on all interactivity and TEE probes.

Demonstrates leadership and independent judgment necessary to support an effective work environment.

Lead Sonographer Specialty Tech Requirements :

• Work Schedule : 4 - 10-hour shifts 7am - 5 : 30pm
• Education : Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• License : American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), CCI or American Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registered.
• Must have RVT / RVS / VS with specialty in Vascular or Neurosonology; or RDCS / RCS with a specialty in Adult Echo, Fetal Echo or Pediatric Echo;

or RDMS / ARRT with at least two sonographer specialties (ie : OB / GYN, Breast, AB).

• Certification : Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
• Experience : Three years of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a hospital / healthcare environment.
