and six master's degrees in accounting, education, counseling, psychology, management, and water resources. ECU's 3,000 (average) students come from 35 countries and 22 different states.
About 65% of the 147 full-time faculty hold doctorates.
The Position :
The Department of Art + Design : Media + Communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at East Central University invites applications for an Assistant Professor (MFA or Doctorate) or Instructor (non-terminal Master’s Degree(s) in related area(s)) position to begin in August 2024.
We are an interdisciplinary department. Successful candidates will also be interdisciplinary and have proficiency in more than one area of art, design, media, or communication.
Departmental needs at this time include all levels of : Painting, Audio Production, Video Production, and Graphic Design.
Depending on qualifications and areas of expertise, other areas that successful candidates may be assigned to teach include, but are not limited to : Drawing, 2D Design, Art History, Color Theory, Art Theory and Social Practice, Introduction to Mass Media, Media Ethics and Law, and Media Practicum.
In addition to teaching, successful candidates will advise students and engage in service to the department, college, university, and community.
Successful candidates will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of assigned art and media studio areas. Successful candidates may be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the ECU Pogue Art Gallery and 12th Street Gallery, as well as installation and de-installation of rotating exhibitions in the galleries.

Qualifications :
An earned MFA, Doctorate, or non-terminal Master’s Degree in a related area is required.
