General Description
Under the direction of the VP of Manufacturing Operations, the Supply Chain manager will be responsible for overseeing tasks related to production planning, supplier selection, pricing negotiations, materials purchasing, inventory control, and distribution of finished goods.
This self-motivated leader will also be responsible for the supervision of purchasing, inventory & receiving teams as they conduct various activities within the supply chain.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Evaluate existing supply chain processes, implementing changes when necessary to reduce waste and to improve efficiency and overall supply chain performance.
- Collect data and prepare analysis designed to forecast demand and predict inventory needs to optimize carrying costs of inventory and finished goods.
- Document and manage the performance of supply chain staff and report on supply chain key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
- Assess vendor capabilities, develop alternate sources, and evaluate vendor performance.
- Prepare status reports, updates, and dashboard for the Production & Project Management teams.
- Analyze market; recommend major purchases of materials and supplies based on anticipated changes in prices or on unusual availability situations.
- Applies various planning methodologies and has the ability to tailor supply agreements and align the supply base to achieve optimal efficiency.
- Establish department best practices and procedures.
- Participate as a key member of ERP implementation team, driving industry best practice process development and tracking tools.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and / or Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related discipline and experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 10+ years of previous experience in procurement and supplier management.
- 5+ years of experience leading a team of supply chain professionals.
- Experience with Epicor ERP system a plus.
- Experience in the equipment manufacture-to-order environment a plus.
