1st Shift Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

This position as a Maintenance Mechanic coordinates and manages the bulk of maintenance activities related to the facility and its operations with minimal direct supervision.

The role includes maintaining a safe work environment, managing corporate PM and WO systems, coordinating resources, and providing team leadership to meet quality and production goals.

Additional responsibilities involve interfacing with engineering and operations, providing assistance to production, and working in multiple company locations when necessary.

Hard Skills

• Electrician skills, control wiring up to 480V, VFD experience
• Boiler / chiller / compressor / HVAC experience
• Facility management (lighting, plumbing, painting, doors, roof leaks, etc.)
• Forklift and process equipment experience, including rebuilds (i.e., pumps, blowers, motors)
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Use and maintenance of basic machine shop equipment (lathe, mill, drill press, assorted hand tools, grinders, TIG and stick welding equipment, inspection equipment, etc.)
• Troubleshooting and maintenance of a variety of plant and process equipment (motors, air compressors, chillers, HVAC equipment, drive units, water delivery equipment, electrical service equipment, motor starters, switches, etc.)
• Basic mechanical design, and ability to read and modify mechanical and process drawings (e.g., piping and instrumentation diagrams)
• Basic electronics and simple controls, including reading and using electrical schematics and control diagrams
• Computer literacy and proficiency with software tools (Outlook, Office products, MRP systems like Smart Maintenance)
• Soliciting quotes from vendors and contractors, and generating requisitions for parts and labor
