Operations Supervisor (Based on Foothill Ranch, CA)
We are looking for a full-time, experienced and self-motivated Operations Supervisor to join our Operations Team. This position is responsible for supervising and directing the activities of employees in the assigned area, assuring the team goals’ achievement.
Engages in the verification and maintenance of records for outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipments.
Hampton Products, a leading provider of residential and commercial security, door hardware, builders’ hardware, cargo management and portable security products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will be to :
- Safety :
- Ensures adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
- Reinforces Safety as number one priority within team, performs daily safety walks, leads daily safety conversations, reports incidents and leads safety investigations. -
- Team Leadership :
- Leads by example and promotes company’s values on a daily basis in all aspects of the job, including conflict resolution and teamwork solutions to help provide harmonious work environment.
- Leads organization of priorities, methods, and work assignments for the department. Oversees and audits team to ensure work is completed in a timely and accurate fashion, including adjusting for unique customer requirements.
- Leads team cross training efforts to ensure flexibility to meet workload demands.
- Provides clarification of goals and constant performance feedback to assigned team, aligned to internal performance evaluation process.
- Keeps attendance and timesheet information accurate, and current on the ADP system, for all department employees, according to attendance policy.
- Provides input to department manager and HR regarding staffing requirements based on current and future workload forecast. -
- Performance :
- Works with department manager to develop and implement strategies to achieve department goals for Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity and Inventory.
- Consolidates, analyzes, and reports daily, weekly, monthly department Key Performance Indicators (KPI) ensuring compliance with established goals.
Recommends actions based on results and opportunities. -
Continuous Improvement and Teamwork : -
Tracks relevant department process information to help identify problems and opportunities.
- Leads root cause analysis investigations to resolve issues.
- Leads continuous improvement projects to ensure achievement of department goals and productivity.
- Works with other departments to test and implement process changes for new products or customer requirements.
- Ensures Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are discussed, analyzed, and keeps them updated.
- Works as one team with other Operations Supervisors on large-volume customer orders, which sometimes requires unique processes to successfully accomplish the task.
- Suggests and creates teambuilding strategies with HR support.
The successful candidate will have the following :
Associate degree or one year certificate from college or technical school; and 2 to 3 years of distribution supervision related increasing experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- No less than 1 to 2 years of experience leading others successfully.
- Lean / Six Sigma Certification, preferred.
- Project Management experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to train and share expertise with others.
