Job Summary / OverviewPurpose of the Role :
A Senior Field Service Engineer is a technical professional who provides on-site support and maintenance for histology equipment and systems, often working directly with customers. They troubleshoot problems, perform repairs, and may also be involved in installations and commissioning of new equipment. Senior Field Service Engineers may be expected to lead teams or manage complex projects.

ResponsibilitiesTroubleshooting and Repair : Diagnosing and resolving technical issues with histology equipment or systems, requiring a deep understanding of equipment operation.Installation and Commissioning : Setting up and testing new equipment or systems to ensure proper functionality.Maintenance : Performing regular maintenance and preventative measures to ensure optimal performance and longevity.Client Interaction : Communicating with customers to understand needs, provide technical advice, and address concerns.Documentation : Keeping detailed records of all site activities, including repairs, maintenance, and installations.Training : Providing training to technicians or end-users on proper use and maintenance of equipment.Team Leadership : Supervising and mentoring junior field service engineers as needed.Skills and QualificationsTechnical Proficiency : Strong understanding of histology equipment or systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software aspects.Problem-Solving : Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.Communication Skills : Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Customer Service Skills : Ability to interact professionally with customers, address concerns, and build relationships.Teamwork : Effectively collaborate with engineers, technicians, and managers.Physical Stamina : Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and working in various environments.Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (Electronic, Mechanical, or Military equivalent) with practical experience in field service of histology equipment.CertificationsRequired certifications in Sakura, Leica, or Thermo histology equipment.
