Job Title : Upscale Dining Food Runner
Job Summary : The fine dining food runner is responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables quickly and accurately.
They work closely with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure that all aspects of service run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities :
Food Delivery : Transporting food orders from the kitchen to the correct table in a timely manner, ensuring presentation and temperature are maintained.
Table Setup : Assisting in setting up tables with necessary utensils, condiments, and glassware before guests are seated.
Communication : Communicating effectively with kitchen and serving staff to ensure all orders are accurate and delivered promptly.
Customer Service : Providing excellent customer service by being attentive to guests’ needs, answering questions about menu items, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
Bussing Tables : Clearing and cleaning tables between courses and after guests finish their meals, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
Supporting Roles : Assisting servers as needed, such as refilling beverages, delivering additional items requested by guests, and supporting overall restaurant operations.
Knowledge of Menu : Familiarizing oneself with the menu to accurately describe dishes and ingredients to customers.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Prior experience as a food runner or in a similar role in a fine dining establishment is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen and serving staff.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in food delivery and table setup.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy trays if required.
Working Conditions :
- Fine dining food runners typically work in upscale restaurants and may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
