Detailed Description
In this role, the successful candidate will support stormwater planning and design-related project work across the state of Oregon as well as occasionally support projects in Washington and Idaho.
Typical work areas could include :
- Hydrologic / hydraulic modeling of municipal storm drainage systems.
- Application of software tools for the sizing of stormwater quality and quantity management facilities.
- Preparation of written plans, reports, presentations, and other technical documentation to describe analyses and recommendations.
- Conducting work towards the development of municipal stormwater design standards and manuals.
- Conducting master planning related tasks for municipal stormwater utilities such as the development of water quality and water capacity related capital improvement projects.
- GIS data analysis and mapping for reports and presentations.
- Feasibility studies, alternatives analyses, and conceptual design development for stormwater infrastructure improvement projects.
- Water quality data analyses.
- Assistance and participation in client and internal meetings to advance project work.
- Occasional travel to project sites for data collection and client meetings.
Desired Skills and Experience :
- or degree in engineering or related science with 0 to 5 years of related experience.
- Strong interest in water resources related work.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to support technical tasks and / or lead technical tasks and coordinate with supporting staff.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment and individually.
- GIS experience including mapping / cartography, development / management of database structures, and analysis is strongly preferred.
- Educational or working experience with surface water hydrology and hydraulics, including rainfall-runoff relationships and tools including SWMM-based modeling platforms is preferred.
Salary Range : The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
These ranges may be modified in the future.
$57,000 - $77,000
