Description & Requirements As Counsel, Employee Relations you will provide strategic advice on employment issues and guide ER professionals and leaders on best practices.
You will develop solutions to complex ER challenges, enhance processes, and collaborate with business leaders and HR partners to ensure positive employee relations.
Your role includes providing support in various HR areas such as employee engagement, performance management, leave management, accommodations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : - Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government oversight activities relating to employment issues and provide proactive, strategic advice to the relevant partners.
- Provide guidance, education, and coaching to team of ER professionals as well as people leaders on employee relations best practices and effective employee communication techniques.
- Use your employee relations expertise to develop creative, effective solutions to often complex employee relations problems, issues and challenges.
- Proactively identify enhancements to employee relations processes and practices. - Partner effectively and collaboratively with business leaders, subject matter experts, legal and HR business partners across the organization to implement systemic solutions and sustain positive employee relations.
- Develop and deliver training programs for team members and HR Develop and monitor team performance metrics, support and motivate the team to meet service levels (SLAs) and address any non-conformance.
- Manage and provide oversight of the full lifecycle investigation process from intake through closure and aftercare; ensuring the investigation is executed timely and with integrity, respect and efficiency.
- Provide expertise and support in various HR-related areas including but not limited to employee engagement, performance management, leave management, accommodations, company driven changes, disciplinary actions, work complaints, employee concerns and terminations in accordance with company's policies and procedures including complex escalations.
- Provide sound business judgment, confidence, a sense of ownership, drive, comfort making tough calls where the answer is not clear.
- Proactively manage and monitor the deliverables and success metrics of the Employee Relations COE to ensure productivity and quality targets are met.
- Will act as a conduit to the office of the general counsel team for escalated ER-related legal matters Minimum Requirements - JD from an accredited law school and admission to one or more State Bars required.
- 7-10 years of relevant professional experience required. experience with operational tasks, including managing to SLAs and process improvements - Advanced knowledge of human resources practices, techniques, and standards.
- Extensive demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations as well as training team members in best practices and appropriate investigative protocols.
- Ability to analyze data, evaluate facts, handle sensitive information, multitask multiple investigations and projects.
- Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Suite & Outlook. - Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
- Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously. - Excellent organizational and people management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Experience with Service Contract Act (SCA) populations preferred.
- Ability to manage high level of confidentiality and experience handling PII and PHI. - Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package.

Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.

Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances. Minimum Salary $ 98,000.
