Position Description
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary / nontenured faculty to teach.
Temporary / nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis.
Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental / school need.
Successful candidates will teach at the Texas State University campus in San Marcos, Texas.
This posting is for the Fall , Spring , and Summer semesters.

- A minimum of a master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry
- Strong academic background in one or more of the following areas : general chemistry, biochemistry, and organic chemistry
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry or a closely related field.
- Previous experience teaching undergraduate courses as the instructor of record
- Previous experience coordinating and developing curriculum for undergraduate laboratories
