The Baylor Heart Hospital Plano

Registered Nurse 4 CUB

Patient Population : Heart, Lung, and Vascular

Shift : Full Time / 3 / 12’s / Nights

Patient Ratios : TELE 1 : 4 PCU : 1 : 3, ICU 1 : 2

Type of Cases : ICU / PCU / TELE We care for a wide cardiovascular patient population including post-TAVR, post-Robotic Lung Surgery, post-Vascular Surgery, EKOS, LVADs, CRRT, IABP, STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, Cardiac Arrhythmias, DVTs / Pulmonary Embolism, PVD / PAD.

Unit does not recover post open-heart patients or manage Impella devices)

Required Experience : Minimum (1) one year (prefer 2 years) recent full-time Telemetry / EKG experience, knowledge of basic hemodynamics and cardiac medications (experience with cardiac drips preferred).

RN’s w / o ICU experience should expect working up to 1 year at Tele / CVPCU level prior to leveling up to ICU

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses.

What You'll Do

You, as an RN, will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans.

Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.

Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families.

Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues.

You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.

Assess and document learning needs regularly.

Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.

You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.

Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program

MAJOR Nursing

EXPERIENCE : Minimum (1) one year (prefer 2 years) recent full-time Telemetry / EKG experience, knowledge of basic hemodynamics and cardiac medications (experience with cardiac drips preferred).

CERTIFICATION / LICENSE / REGISTRATION - Registered Nurse (RN)

Basic Life Support (BLS) : BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
