Position Summary

Culture Studio’s biggest asset is our team members. The primary duty of the Training and Safety Director is to create strategies to improve the skills, productivity, quality of work, safety, and performance of employees.

You will be expected to establish the training and development needs of the CS Team members and promote training initiatives that enhance employees’ job effectiveness.

You will also develop training strategies, oversee their execution, and measure the impact on employee performance. As part of the management team, you will ensure practices with employees are met and serve as support during operations where needed, focusing on making sure all employees follow safety standards and procedures.

Top Priorities

  • Create Safety and Training Program for both factories Chicago and Daytona Beach using the already created but not mastered CS certification.
  • Train and implement this platform on-site at both locations. (Travel is required)
  • Ensure that no new team member steps on the floor until they have completed the proper onboarding.
  • Implement & track the performance of training programs, create reports for leadership, and document recommended strategies for improvement.

Position Duties

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute training programs that increase operational efficiency and enhance the knowledge and skills of our team members.
  • Collaborate with senior management to understand the company’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Design and deliver e-learning courses, workshops, and other training.
  • Design training platforms on safety handling of the equipment and how to prevent injuries.
  • Evaluate and ensure the effectiveness of training programs through regular assessment of individual and team performance.
  • Manage the training budget, ensuring that all programs are within budget and have a high return on investment.
  • Stay updated with the latest screen printing techniques, technology advancements, equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Address any specific training needs to improve employees' skills, performance, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Implement onboarding for new hires and ongoing training programs for existing team members.
  • Coordinate logistics & supplies for training, including scheduling classes and setting up necessary equipment and resources.
  • Work hand in hand with production supervisors on the floor to continuously evaluate team members' performance, techniques, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Assist management on the floor to ensure production is always flowing and never stops.
  • Be a support with the management team in covering the floor, shifts, team meetings, etc.
  • Engrain yourself with the team to build teamwork, positive relationships, and support career development.
  • Serve as a member of the management team by helping champion safety, core values, and company practices.
  • While helping out on the floor, ensure that everyone is following safety protocols, including no earbuds, horseplaying, or unfocused behavior.

Training Expectations

Safety Expectations

  • Create and implement safety policies and procedures to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • Provide training on safety & accident prevention.
  • Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement within the production floor.
  • Conduct safety audits to evaluate performance and identify corrective action.
  • Conduct safety meetings to ensure compliance and maintain employee training logs.
  • Report to the purchasing team on safety equipment needed for employees.
  • Prepare and file reports for accidents and other safety breaches.
  • Ensure the company complies with OSHA, state, and federal regulations.
  • Work to improve the safety culture throughout the company.
  • Develop and maintain emergency action plans.
  • Recommend and enforce disciplinary actions against safety policy violators.

Qualifications / Skills (Not Required but Preferred)

  • Previous Screen Printing experience required
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Possessing organizational skills and ability to administer project and time management.
  • Safety Project Management preferred.
