The Whitney’s Academic Year Internship program offers a semester-long paid internship for undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in an accredited academic program.

The internship is hybrid, with some onsite work. For Spring 2025, interns commit between 16 21 hours per week over 10 12 weeks for a total of 200 hours, depending on availability.

The official program dates will span from February 3, 2025 through April 18, 2025. Interns are assigned to a specific department at the Museum for the duration of the internship.

Expected Projects & Assignments Research and analysis projects based on the intern’s interest and current needs of the department Correspondence, including letters, email announcements, and reports Ad-hoc administrative tasks and data entry Skills & Qualifications Basic skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required Writing and editing experience, especially for non-academic audiences preferred Raiser’s Edge or another CM system (e.

g. Tessitura, SalesForce) preferred Undergraduates and graduates currently enrolled in accredited academic year programs are eligible Applicants must have completed a minimum of one year’s worth of academic coursework;

undergraduate freshmen are not eligible While a demonstrated interest in art and art history is preferred, students in all majors are encouraged to apply Previous museum experience is not required Provided Training Raiser’s edge Advancement department operations and procedures Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) Outcomes Learn about Whitney’s Advancement Department, including Major Gifts, Foundation and Government Relations, Planned Giving, Corporate Partnerships, and Special Events Learn about practices and trends in philanthropy Learn about Museum administration and gain exposure to Finance, Administration, and Trustee Affairs among other areas Compensation Interns will be paid a stipend of $3000.
