PositionOverview :

We areseeking a highly motivated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to joinour clients team as per diem employees. You will have theopportunity to contribute to patient care and improve theiroutcomes.

We are recruiting energetic andempathetic Nurse Practitioners to provide care for lowriskobstetric patients on the OB / GYN inpatient service in accordancewith mutually agreed upon protocols within the policies andprocedures established by the Department of Obstetrics andGynecology.

The Clinical Coordinator III NP will reportadministratively to the Division Administrator and clinically tothe Collaborating Physician.

He / she will work under the supervisionof the attending physicians when providing care to lowriskobstetric patients

• The location is onBroadway in New York New York
• The workingschedule for this role is flexible with it being per diem; shiftsare 7 : 30 am 8 pm
• This position may includeweekend coverage and will consist of day and nightshifts

KeyResponsibilities :

Patient Care Management andDocumentation

• Obtainsand documents subjective history (interval or comprehensive) asappropriate to chief complaint or reason forvisit
• Conducts relevant physicalexams documenting pertinent positive and negativefindings
• Identifies a diagnostic impressionand / or formulates a differential based on the subjective andobjective data obtained
• Writes prescription(s)according to New York State and federallaw
• Formulates a goaldirected plan thatincludes health maintenance and appropriate medical and nursinginterventions according to established protocols / practiceagreement
• Assesses and documents patientresponse to treatment andinterventions
• Provides and documents healthteaching that is oriented to the appropriate problem and / ordevelopmentally age appropriate healthmaintenance
• Consults and / or refers as percollaborative agreements / protocols. Documents same as well asdocuments follow up

Direct Patient Care

• Provide full scope obstetric care for lowriskpatients in the triage unit on L&D and on the PPunit
• Provides direct care to patients that areconsistent with the Mission Philosophy and goals of the departmentand hospital
• Advises the department within thescope of the advanced nursing practice role and New York Statepractice act
• Demonstrates a sound knowledgebase and clinical decisionmaking skills in the administration ofnurse practitioner care for the lowrisk obstetric patientpopulation
• Promotes patient satisfaction withintheir designated patient population

ResearchStudies

Assists staff in developing appropriate qualityimprovement study design for potential use inresearch

MinimumQualifications :

• Requires Bachelor of Science in Nursing orequivalent in education and experience plus five years of relatedexperience
• Masters Degree in specialty ofpractice or completed alternative certification requirements forgraduates of nurse practitioner programs prior to April 11989
• Current NYS RN and NPLicensures
• National Certification as a NursePractitioner in the specialty of practice
• BasicLife Support Certification for all Nurse Practitioners who providedirect patient care
• Strong leadershipcommunication and interpersonal skills to direct work drive changeinteract with and effectively collaborate with patients andcoworkers
• Must maintain licensures throughoutemployment
• Possess strong organizational skillsand be detail oriented
• Excellent verbal / writtencommunication and strong observation and listeningskills
• High level of professionalism andmaturity and the ability to workindependently

PreferredQualifications :

• 5 years of related experience inOBGYN
• Computer proficiency with the ability toquickly learn new applications
