Our team is working with a growing, private-equity backed company in a multi-billion dollar industry; this company operates several retail brands and has a strong national presence.
With the growth they have accomplished and all that is on the horizon, they are now seeking a Senior Accountant to join their corporate office in the Greater Chicago Area!
Responsibilities :
- Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank, credit card and other billing statements.
- Maintain accurate and complete accounting records and files.
- Assist with the month-end close (adjusting journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.)
- Perform monthly account analysis and reconciliations.
- Research and analyze expense variances for company management.
- Assist with the annual audit process including preparing the draft of the financial statements and related notes.
- Assist with establishing, modifying, documenting, and coordinating the implementation of accounting control procedures / processes.
- Assist other departments and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience in lieu of education
- 3+ years of professional accounting experience including substantial exposure to monthly closing processes,
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines.
- An analytical mindset with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills; Expert spreadsheet abilities
- Knowledge of accounting systems; experience with Sage Intacct a plus
- Ability to work with confidential information with maturity and integrity.
- Ability to thrive in fact-paced, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
