We are seeking an experienced and qualified Hospital Administrator to join our team and lead our hospital through its next phase of growth and excellence.
As the Hospital Administrator , you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Doral Centre Animal Hospital .
You will manage hospital finances , lead and develop a high-performing team , and ensure the seamless delivery of veterinary services .
Your role will be critical in maintaining the hospital’s high standards of care and operational efficiency, with a focus on both general practice and emergency / specialty services.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management :
- Develop, manage, and monitor the hospital budget, including forecasting, expense control, and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to optimize revenue and reduce costs.
- Oversee billing, invoicing, and collections processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage inventory and supplies, negotiating with vendors and ensuring cost-effective purchasing.
Leadership and Team Management :
- Recruit, train, and supervise a diverse team of veterinary professionals, including veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff.
- Provide clear direction, support, and mentorship to staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations, address staff concerns, and implement development plans to enhance team performance and retention.
- Promote and maintain high standards of patient care and client service.
Operational Oversight :
- Oversee day-to-day hospital operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of veterinary services.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and protocols for both general practice and emergency / specialty services.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and hospital policies.
- Manage scheduling, including staff shifts, appointments, and emergency care, to meet patient and client needs.
Client and Patient Care :
- Enhance client satisfaction through exceptional service, clear communication, and effective problem resolution.
- Oversee the appointment system, client communication, and follow-up procedures to ensure a positive client experience.
- Implement strategies to promote client retention and attract new clients.
Technical Skills and Knowledge :
- Apply technical skills and knowledge of veterinary practices, including emergency and specialty care, to support clinical operations and decision-making.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in hospital services.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to address technical challenges and improve operational workflows.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise to Be Successful
Experience :
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role within a veterinary practice, with a strong background in managing hospital finances and operations.
Previous Practice Management experience is required and non-negotiable. Veterinary ER / Specialty experience strongly preferred .
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams, with proven success in creating a positive and productive work environment.
- Prior experience in a small animal emergency and specialty center is highly desirable.
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Veterinary Technology, or a related field; advanced degree or certification in veterinary practice management is a plus. (CVPM)
Technical Skills :
- Proficiency in veterinary practice management software and general office applications.
- Strong understanding of veterinary technical procedures, including emergency and specialty care protocols.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Leadership and Communication :
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a track record of effective team management and development.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate staff, and address client concerns professionally.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a focus on financial acumen and operational efficiency
