The Role
The Key Account Manager Specialty Distribution will be responsible for building and growing strategic relationships for Specialty Distribution including but not limited to Muscle Foods, Regional Specialty Distribution, National Sporting Goods, National Gym.
This customer facing role will report to the Director of Sales Emerging Channels in the execution of the holistic strategy.
Primary responsibility will manage the day-to-day execution plans and strategies put in place by Sales Leadership. It is expected that the Key Account Manager will attain aggressive top and bottom-line annual objectives via Strategic Growth Planning and set the performance standard aligning with the distributor / retailer strategies.
The expected pay scale for this role if you’re based in CA, NY, or NJ is $120k to $130k, which may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic area (if applicable), and internal equity for the role.

The expected pay scale for this role if you’re based in any of the other states is $105k to $115k, which may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic area (if applicable), and internal equity for the role.
You’re excited about this opportunity because your time will be filled with
Specialty Distribution Management : 40% of Time
- Serve as the primary contact for Specialty Distributors
- Strategic management of the P&L and financial matters in Specialty Distribution
- Develop and conduct quarterly and annual meetings with distribution partners and key customers to present and align on growth plans
- Forecasting and budget approval within channel responsibility
- Execution of the Strategic plan for Specialty Distribution with alignment with the Director of Sales
- Build strategic customer relationships at multiple levels of the customer organization to develop influence and drive growth
Strategic Retailer Business Management : 30% of Time
- Serve as the primary customer contact for Sporting Goods, Corp / Independent Gym, Independent Specialty Channels
- Strategic management of the P&L and financial matters of the customers
- Serve as the primary Customer contact for assigned Account Retailers
- Management of volume and trade spend forecasting
Business Building : 20% of Time
- Identify and prospect new areas of strategic growth within distributors channels and customer base
- Execution of the Strategic plan for assigned Customers in alignment with the Associate Director of Sales
- Selling of new items to build the overall PNC portfolio
Annual Customer Strategic Planning : 10% of Time
- Aligning with Director of Sales & Sales Planning on Volume and Trade funding plans
- Represent Customers base in cross functional projects including :
- Account specific marketing
- Sales Planning / Finance
Qualifications
What are we looking for?
Education :
Bachelor’s degree
Experience :
- Min 5 yrs of relevant experience within Specialty Distribution / Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
- Experience within Specialty Distribution including but not limited to Muscle Foods
- Must have customer facing sales or category experience
Skills :
- Must be willing to travel up to 30%
- Strong navigational skills within customer portals
- Understanding of Syndicated data
- Ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships both internally and externally
- Independent, self-driven individual with the ability to build vs. manage
- Creative with a desire for continuous improvement
