Responsibilities
- Review all patient charts and health history prior to providing any treatment.
- Observe, evaluate, and apply knowledge of dental skills to the patients.
- Work cooperatively with the dental team, providing care in that setting, including supervising a full dental team.
- Accurately record all procedures and pertinent information in the patient records.
- Provide individualized care to each patient.
- Assist in managing support personnel.
- Supervise dental assistants, dental hygienists, associate dentists, and administrative staff, and communicate with support staff regarding patient care plans.
- Show patients how to use recommended devices for orthodontics and dental appliances, such as retainers and dentures, and educate on the importance of good oral hygiene.
- Issue referral for the client to dental specialists, such as pediatric dentists, orthodontists, endodontists, and periodontists when appropriate.
- Assess the patients’ overall dental health and look for presence of dental diseases by thoroughly examining the patients’ teeth using diagnostic tools, procedures, and instruments.
- Implement and coordinate preventive dental care treatments such as flossing, fillings, sealants, x-rays, and fluoride applications, and cosmetic dental services such as whitening when indicated.
Qualifications
- Qualified candidates will have completed an accredited pediatric dental program and have a specialty pediatric dental license in the state of Minnesota or Wisconsin.
- Current and unrestricted state license in good standing.
- A minimum of two years of dentistry experience in clinical or private practice is required.
- Board Certified and / or Board Eligible in Dentistry.
- Requires CPR, BLS, and NPI certifications.
- Possess strong bedside manner and great communication skills.
Compensation
$200,000 - $450,000
