As the Mechanical Engineer you will design major system components (evaporator systems, condenser systems) used in ultra-low temperature freezers that biotech companies use to store life sciences material.

You will work closely with other teams, such as Project Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Management to create competitive designs for Life Science Solutions.

The selected individual must have the technical expertise to support product design projects, product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality & reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering and stage gate Project Development Process practices.

This position has been designated as onsite .

Responsibilities :

  • Meet the needs of internal and external customers, through documenting, understanding and prioritizing customer requirements.
  • Apply technical expertise to solve design problems or to gauge appropriateness of product to various applications.
  • Participate on project teams to meet performance, reliability, cost and schedule objectives.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including 3D models, bills of materials, drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct design FMEAs; develop and execute resulting risk mitigation plans.
  • Both domestic and international travel may be required. Estimated travel is 10%.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 3-5 years of engineering or product design experience is required.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering is a plus.

Key Competencies :

  • Able to function as a core team member on cross-functional product engineering teams and deliver on select design elements for projects.
  • Detailed understanding of refrigeration system functions including singles stage, compound, and / or cascade refrigeration systems, heat transfer, airflow and ventilation.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to efficiently understand and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions.
  • Ability to make progress by completing tasks and deliverables in a multi-tasking environment (several concurrent assignments) on time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills ability to communicate up, down, and across the organization.

Base Compensation Range is $70,000 to $120,000
