Overview
LMI is seeking a skilled junior Analyst for a position in the Department of Defense, Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition and Sustainment), Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Logistics), Transportation Directorate, at the Mark Center, Alexandria, VA.
Specifically, an individual who can successfully demonstrate competency in leadership, critical thinking and client relationship management while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the National Capital Region. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include :
- Supporting Transportation Programs for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics (DASD(Log)).
- Manage the day-to-day functions of a government-wide transportation program.
- Develop strategic plans based on assessments of functional areas and organizational goals and objectives.
- Working familiarization with military transportation surface, air and sea modes.
- Support and lead projects analyzing and making improvement recommendations for Transportation Policies.
- Provide support to government organizations such as the OSD Staff, the Joint Staff, and the Combatant Commanders in the areas of Transportation Policy to ensure enterprise wide efficient, cost effective end-to-end performance.
- Work with a diverse set of stakeholders in geographically disbursed areas.
- Analyze and assess DoD and other government agency logistics and supply chain policies and procedures against current performance metrics and make recommendations on policy and / or process improvements.
- Provide administrative and technical writing support to maintain and update DoD transportation issuances and other government agency operational support of those documents.
- Work collaboratively with the appropriate government stakeholders to capture and articulate information for DoD and other government agency issuances.
- Work with appropriate DoD and other government agency personnel to identify and capture current and future changes in business processes for policy and procedures in issuances;
- Provide program management support for a variety of seminars, meetings and work teams; perform data analysis; develop briefings and papers for all levels of DoD leadership, and conduct research in support of DoD Transportation policies.
- Prepare and finalize correspondence including letters, memoranda, briefings, speeches, presentations, meeting minutes, and reports.
Maintain communication mediums including distribution lists, rosters, and SharePoint sites.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or similar discipline
- 2 years’ relevant experience in government logistics and business processes (DoD preferred).
- Good quantitative and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written
- High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry
- Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
- Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
- Availability for occasional travel.
- This position requires an active security clearance at the SECRET level. You must be a US citizen.
