Role and Responsibilities

As a Print Operator, you will set up and operate cut sheet, continuous roll digital printing & bindery finishing equipment.

This position will use digital printing and software programs to create materials per customer orders, load and unload paper stock, impose files for printing, RIP files, and release jobs from print queue.

This position will also include assignments & back-up duties in between jobs received. These duties will be assigned by management and can / will change from day to day.

Job Description : Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited, to the following. Please note other duties may be assigned accordingly.

• Report to the Production Supervisor at the beginning of the assigned shift to discuss daily assignments and changes.
• Perform pre- and post-shift physical inspection of equipment and supplies for jobs.
• Attend daily production meetings / huddles to prioritize job schedules for assigned equipment.
• Operate all assigned equipment safely and ensure proper maintenance standards are met for each piece of equipment.
• Utilize software programs to review customer job queue and create materials to maximize printing efficiency.
• Impose files for printing, RIP files, and release jobs from the print queue.
• Batch print jobs accordingly to increase printing efficiency of customer jobs.
• Load and unload paper stock using proper safety standards.
• Utilize finishing equipment, including but not limited to, continuous form to cutsheet cut line, guillotine cutter, binding which can include coil, stitching, and plastic comb, and paper hole drilling equipment.
• Conduct constant monitoring and review of each job for quality control to include the immediate adjustment of the equipment as needed and required for customer jobs.
• Perform minor, routine, and non-complicated maintenance of equipment when required.
• Produce printed sheets, cut sheets, booklets, binders, and other final products.
• Maintain organized paper storage.
• Follow Standard Work procedures.
• Make ready, operate, maintain and have ability to troubleshoot the digital print process as needed.
• Follow QC procedures and complete all paperwork, checklists, logs, and computer functions (imposition, job scanning and tracking, JDF, etc.

in accordance with Standard Processes.

• Interact closely with other departments.
• Ensure associates maintain safety and OSHA standards.
• Responsible for cleanliness of area and maintaining 5S standards, while driving continuous improvements.
• All other tasks as assigned by Lead, Manager, or Senior Management.
• Comply with all current and future security and compliance requirements.

• Ability to read, understand, and accurately execute work orders and special instructions from supervisors.
• Detail oriented & quality consciousness to spot check and provide Quality Assurance on jobs.
• Ability to receive training and instruction at all skill levels.
• Must pass a background check.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
