Job Description

As a Transportation / Transit Planner, you will play a pivotal role in a variety of planning and grant writing activities crucial for shaping the transportation landscape.

These activities include transit plans, multimodal corridor studies, subarea studies, regional transportation plans, travel demand modeling, policy development, and grant writing.

Additionally, you will leverage GIS mapping tools and assist in crafting comprehensive reports and memos pertaining to ongoing projects.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, feeling at ease interacting with clients and presenting to groups of all sizes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Evaluates studies, develops policies, and recommends solutions for small to large-sized projects.
  • Provides design recommendations for community, transportation, and master planning projects.
  • Prepares drafts for environmental impact reports and project documentation.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure community needs are addressed.
  • Analyzes technical reports and performs design calculations to inform planning decisions.
  • Coordinates project design needs and communicates progress with stakeholders.
  • Enters and maintains project information in the firm’s management system.
  • Mentors interns and provides technical guidance to less experienced staff.
  • May supervise student staff and provide opportunities for skill development.
  • You will work in various terrain and weather conditions at project sites.

Periodic travel for project-related tasks and business development efforts is required.

We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Oklahoma City or Tulsa office location.

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, policy, political science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2-6 years of relevant planning experience.
  • Certification as a planner (AICP) is desirable.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving history.
